Science is concerned with the exploration of the world in which we live. All too often, we take the wonders of nature present in our environments for granted. At Blyton cum Laughton School we encourage children to discover their world through first-hand experience where possible. The teaching of science is approached through reading-inspired focuses allowing the acquisition, not only of a working knowledge of facts and principles, but of skills, attitudes and methods of working. BcL Extraordinary Lives provides children with opportunities to explore a diverse range of scientists - past and present - who have contributed greatly to their area of expertise.
