Technology is about designing and communicating, making and testing and evaluating, and encouraging children to go beyond their first ideas and seek alternatives. This has the advantage of helping pupils to develop the skills of self-evaluation and self-criticism. At Blyton cum Laughton Church of England Primary School children are given every opportunity to investigate. Opportunities are provided through a range of construction work using a variety of materials.
We also value the development of life skills such as cooking. Children in KS2 have the opportunity to learn how to cook three dishes before they leave primary school. This is highly valued by the children.
