Mathematics provides the children with a way of viewing and making sense of the world. It is used to analyse and communicate ideas and information, and to tackle a range of practical tasks and real-life problems. We aim to promote a positive attitude among our children towards mathematics, and stimulate their curiosity to seek further answers. By the time the children leave Blyton cum Laughton School they will have experienced a wide range of mathematical strategies which enable them to use and apply with greater confidence. We have introduced the White Rose scheme to ensure children have the opportunity to develop their reasoning skills on the journey to mastery.
TTRockStars and Numbots provide the children with exciting online tools to develop their recall of times table facts and the Recall Boards are used across the school to showcase the application of their mathematical knowledge.
