  • Enid Blyton's links with Blyton

Sat 17 Sep 2016 Mr Duke
Did you know that Enid Blyton- the world famous author - wrote to the children of Blyton school in 1961? She was trying to find out about her ancestors who apparently settled in 'Blyton' many centuries ago (they were called the 'de Blytons) and records suggest the village was named after her family. Incredible!
  • Old Newspapers Found!

Sat 17 Sep 2016 Mr Duke

Incredible discoveries have been made amongst the old cupboards at Blyton. Newspapers probably kept by the Headteachers, Headmasters and Headmistresses of the last 120 years have been found to our great surprise and delight. Amongst them are the original newspaper written the day after Queen Victoria's death in 1901. Also among the treasures are the newspaper with the headline 'The Eagle has landed' - can anyone guess which major news story of the last century this relates to?

The finds will soon be framed and displayed in school.

  • Celebration Worship

Fri 16 Sep 2016 Mr Duke

    The first Celebration Worship

Friday 16th September saw our inaugural Celebration Worship, including our sharing of the new Celebration Worship prayer. The successful award winners had the opportunity to choose their rewards including our 'Readers of the Week' who could select a book to take home. Smiles were plentiful and we look forward to handing out more rewards next week.

Many parents attended and we may need to build an extension next week at the Blyton site!
