BcL Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is an important day in our school calendar. Every year we read poems, prayers and extracts from stories to help our children understand the importance of the day.  We were delighted to accept Hilary Robinson's kind offer to visit BcL for Remembrance Day in recent years.  She kindly offered to visit both of our sites to read her wonderful picture book 'Where the Poppies Now Grow' (illustrated by Martin Impey) to all of the children and we could not have been more thrilled to see her.

After reading the story to KS1 children at All Saints' Church in Laughton, she then stepped into the Remembrance Garden at Blyton to read the beautiful poem again.

Books by author and friend of the school, Tom Palmer are often used to help build a picture of the challenges faced by so many.

Families are always welcome to visit us at either site during the services supported by Reverand Mark Briscoe.
