BcL Homework

Homework is a wonderful opportunity for you, as parents and carers, to share learning with your children. 

Please find below the weekly homework expectations for the school. Teachers may change the expectations each week depending on the current learning:



  • To practice counting every week
  • To read picture books daily 
  • Topic related homework, e.g. 'All About Me'

We may also ask the children to work with you on a project linked to our learning or Christian Value.


Key Stage 1:

  • To practice number skills
  • To read home readers/library book daily (minimum of 10 mins per day)
  • Weekly spellings
  • Practice phonics linked to reading


Key Stage 2 (Y3-Y5)

  • Reading daily (15+mins)
  • Spelling and grammar practice
  • Times Table and number

Children will have the opportunity to complete a project linked to learning on a termly basis.


Year 6: 

  • Reading daily + comprehension 
  • Spelling and grammar
  • Writing tasks
  • SATs based using and applying opportunities
