This year our work is based around the theme, Colours of the World.
During the autumn term we have looked at the colours of Harvest, we made our own colour book based on the story Froggy Green.
During our work on bonfire night we talked about fire safety, this really captured the interest of the children, the fire service, an ambulance crew and the police came in to visit school and talk to us about their roles. We loved having the police dogs Bradley and Jack, they showed us how clever they are at finding things and chasing people!
This term we have been looking at the colours of winter and talking about the changes in our environment, we have been reading the story of Jack Frost and have watched as he has turned our surroundings ‘frosty’ ‘cold’and ‘slippy slidey’.
We are now exploring colour through our creative work, we are experimenting with mixing different colours and using these in our art work. We have enjoyed reading Mrs Rainbow and acting out the story in small world play, we have also enjoyed exploring colour through messy play using coloured sand, jelly and foam.
